Jakarta Unites in Prayer for Aceh and Sumatra at Jaga Jakarta Penuh Warna

The Jaga Jakarta Penuh Warna event, held in conjunction with the 58th anniversary of the Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) for Jakarta Region, took place at Bundaran HI, Central Jakarta, and was enlivened by a range of exciting activities on Sunday (11/30).

"...we're sending everything we've gathered directly to the affected areas,"

Through collaborations with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), Karang Taruna, the Indonesian Recreational Sports Committee (KORMI), and the Jakarta CSR Forum, the event featured a fun walk, free health check-ups, blood donations, Zumba sessions, performances by the Jakarta Drum Corps and KORMI Marching Band, barongsai, a Nusantara flash mob dance, and more.

The event began with a joint prayer led by Jakarta Vice Governor Rano Karno for disaster victims in Aceh and Sumatra. Amid the difficult situation, the event also showed solidarity with those affected.

Rano explained that the city government, through Baznas (Bazis) and PMI Jakarta, also carried out social actions including fundraising and blood donations.

"As instructed by the governor, over the past few days we've been collecting donations. Today, we're sending everything we've gathered directly to the affected areas," Rano said at Bundaran Hotel Indonesia, Central Jakarta, on Sunday (11/30).

According to him, Jaga Jakarta Penuh Warna was more than just a monthly event, as it reflects the diverse, vibrant, and creative spirit of Jakartans.

"Today we're not just enjoying a fun walk from City Hall to Bundaran HI, but moving in harmony, celebrating the colors of our culture, communities, MSMEs, and the creativity of youth," he expressed.

Rano emphasized that Jakarta needs active contributions from all of its residents. Creativity, compassion, and courage to innovate are vital forces that move the city forward.

Meanwhile, KADIN Jakarta Chairperson Diana Dewi shared that the 58th anniversary activities began the day prior, with mangrove planting and street musician festival.

"We've also involved MSMEs as strategic partners in strengthening Jakarta's economy," she mentioned.

Celebrating its 58th year, KADIN Jakarta is committed to accelerating Jakarta's path to becoming a global city. She expressed optimism that KADIN will keep playing a vital role in the city's growth.

"We want to be part of Jakarta's journey toward global city status," she stated.
